January 7, 2009

We are getting ready for the big day--February 11. Rhett will have both femurs broken and reset, both tibias broken and reset, both heel cords released and they will plate one of his knees. Basically, the plan is to straighten out all of his twisted leg bones and then retrain the muscles. Hopefully, he will bear with us and relearn walking once again.

He is oblivious to what lies in store for him in just a few weeks. We have been taking him everywhere (bowling, movies, restaurants, riding horses) because very soon he will not be able to move for a long time. Thanks to everyone for their support and for those who have chosen to fast and pray with us on Rhett's behalf on Feb. 1st. We couldn't do it without our wonderful family and friends! I just can't believe the body that Rhett accepted in order to come to our family and help us stay focused on what really matters. We are all full of gratitude that we have Rhett in our family.

  1. wow, that is amazing, I think Rhett took his body over others because of the amazing smile he could share with us all. I mean that guy has one of the best smiles I have ever seen.

  2. Thanks, Bryce! I'll never forget last Spring, when you came to our rescue up at Primary's. Thanks for always being ready to help. Love you.
